Sustainability Policy
Label World is committed to operating our business in a responsible way that minimizes its impact on the environment and is sustainable for future generations. Our goals are to:
- Eliminate waste
- Be supplied by renewable energy
- Create products from sustainable natural resources
Label World will establish and maintain a sustainability scorecard to identify environmental risks, establish annual improvement targets, measure performance, and ensure regulatory compliance. We will collaborate with our suppliers and customers to achieve these goals wherever possible. We will communicate our progress to key stakeholders.
Doing our best for the environment is a part of every associate’s job at Label World, along with driving customer satisfaction and shareholder financial returns.

Label World is a certified member of Project L.I.F.E. (Label Initiative for the Environment) sponsored by TLMI. For more information click here.
This program provides a methodology and set of metrics to help Label World implement its sustainability initiative. Contact us for a copy of our latest scorecard.
Key Efforts
- Manufacturing waste - all of Label World's waste from office and production are used to generate energy from incineration. This will save 250 tons of waste from going to landfill this year.
- Energy reduction - Label World has a variety of efforts to reduce the amount of energy and water needed to produce 1,000 ft of salable product. Since 2008 natural gas consumption has declined by 40%, water by 28% and electricity by 9%. Some higlights:
♦ Reduce plant lighting costs by 50% by changing to energy efficient T5 lighting
♦ Change out traditional hot water heater to instant hot water.
- Energy credits - Label World now offsets 100% of its electric and natural gas consumption with renewable energy credits for wind power through Renewable Choice Energy. This year we will save approximately 612 tons of CO2 emissions through this program.
- Reduce packaging - Label World has worked with selected customers to eliminate corrugated cartons in its packaging by supplying final product in reusable plastic totes or bulk pack on pallets.
- Liner recycling - did you know that you can recycle unbleached kraft liners through your existing corrugated recycling stream? We just helped a major customer start recycling 2 billion square inches of liner material per year by switching to unbleached kraft liner. You can also easily recycle PET liner.
