Phoenix –Label World received the TLMI Environmental Leadership Award for Process Improvement for 2011 at the Annual Meeting of the Tag and Label Manufacturers Association in Phoenix AZ. This prestigious award recognizes TLMI member companies that have consistently demonstrated a commitment to progressive environmental practices across a range of areas including solid waste reduction, recycling, waste or energy recovery, the implementation of new ‘clean’ technology and/or processes, and the implementation of an education program.

Label World of Rochester NY announced the installation of its second HP Indigo Digital press. The Indigo WS6000 web fed press is the latest generation of digital print technology for the labels and packaging industry. It incorporates faster press speed, enhanced color management, longer frame lengths with world class print quality. This complements Label World’s previous installation of the Indigo WS4050 roll fed press, and confirms digital as a major driver of their growth.

(Rochester) The Western New York chapter of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) recently honored Holly L. Hodge, Account Manager for Label World, at their annual golf tournament.  The event, which occurred on June 10, 2011, in Rochester, is held every year as a fund raiser to support future packaging professionals at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Rochester, NY - February 10, 2010 - Label World has received certification by the Tag and Label Manufacturer's Institute's (TLMI) Project L.I.F.E. program. Project L.I.F.E. (which stands for Label Initiative for the Environment) was developed to enable TLMI members to promote more sustainable business practices for the environment. Participants in Project LIFE assess their progress using a set of 31 metrics which are then audited by a third party auditor. These metrics include clean production tecniques, energy and greenhouse gases, product design, and management practices.

Begun to specifically honor the printing companies that provide a superior work environment, this year marks the tenth year of the Best Workplace in the Americas program.

Rochester-based Label World announced the installation of a 12-station 10” Ko-Pack Combination Press with UV inks for advanced high-quality printing and converting of labels and flexible packaging.

The Ko-Pack press, supplied by KPG Corporation in Williston, VT, is highly unique in offering not just a large number of print stations (in this case 12 print stations plus a 13th station for applying UV varnish), but also includes a number of finishing capabilities inline:

•    Up to 12-color printing with solid pigment UV inks for super-saturated color
•    Screen-printing for extra opacity or texture
•    Plow-folding, pattern adhesive coating, and laminating for converting multiple webs—creating nearly any label or flexible packaging construction required

Late in 2008 Label World won recognition for outstanding digital printing of a snack food label for Tavern on the Green Restaurant located in New York City. The particular label was printed on metalized paper using our HP Indigo digital press and walked away with Best of Show honors at the Annual TLMI Label Awards event. This was the first time that a digital label won Best of Show out of all competing print technologies at this prestigious competition with over 300 entries.

Early this year this same label was honored again by the World Label Association for excellence in technical achievement in printing in the category of digital printing. The World Label Association is a joint association of TLMI from the North America, FINAT, JFLP and LATMA, each of which represents different regions of the world.

AB Graphic International has supplied Rochester NY based Label World with the first Omega Digicon Series 2 converting line equipped with flat bed tooling for stamping and embossing. The new line will enable Label World to offer its customers in the wine, nutraceutical and health and beauty markets advanced features such as hot foil stamping, embossing and spot UV varnish coatings.

The Omega Digicon series 2 from AB Graphic International is a modular label converting line for digitally printed webs and offers all the traditional finishing options. The company has recently introduced several new finishing modules that expand the range of applications available including the flat bed tooling option.

Fifty-three converters from around the globe submitted more than 300 entries for this year’s TLMI Annual Label Awards Competition. Winners were announced at the TLMI Annual meeting held recently in Palm Beach, Florida.

Label World of Rochester, NY has been awarded a Bronze Award from the International Association of Printhouse Craftsmen for their printed “Mango Symphony” wine label.
